40-Hour Domestic Violence Training

Turning Point, domestic violence services & crisis agency is an approved and certified training cite by the Illinois Domestic Violence Professionals Board.

The purpose of the Illinois Certified Domestic Violence (ICDV) 40-hour Training is to educate Illinois professionals, which also include volunteers and interns, to respond, bring awareness and provide preventative measures to help end domestic violence effectively, professionally, and safely.

This 40 Hour training is offered hybrid. 20 hours will be online through the ICDVP, and other 20 hours will be in-person, classroom style. The online portion MUST be completed by due date which is PRIOR to in-person. You will NOT be permitted into the class unless you have turned in the 20 hours online certification of completion. Once your online certification is turned in, you will receive the location details of the training.

Cost: $375 (Upon payment and registration, you will be emailed instructions on how to proceed with the online portion)

20-Hour PAIP Facilitator Training

**NO TRAININGS CURRENTLY SCHEDULED

Prerequisite: Completion of 40-Hour Domestic Violence Training certification is required.

Turning Point, an approved and certified training cite by the Illinois Domestic Violence Professionals Board. (ICDVP) is offering a 20-hour Partner Abuse Intervention Program facilitator training (PAIP).

This training is required to co-facilitate Partner Abuse Intervention Groups that are recognized in Illinois under a protocol established and monitored by the Illinois Department of Human Services. This training is also a requirement for persons who wish to be certified as CPAIP (Certified Partner Abuse Intervention Professionals) by the ICDVP.

Training Highlights:

  • Teaches skills and tools necessary to facilitate partner abuse intervention groups
  • Covers the Illinois Partner Abuse Protocols
  • Overview of best practices in group dynamics, including co-facilitation
  • Intervention models

Domestic Violence Cosmetology Training

Turning Point offers 1-hour domestic violence training course for salon and other professionals who are required to receive domestic violence training to renew their professional licensure. It is our goal to help mobilize professionals in our community to fight the epidemic of domestic violence, by building awareness of domestic abuse and training salon professionals to recognize the warning signs of abuse so that they may safely refer their clients to Turning Point and other local resources.

In this training, salon professionals will learn what domestic abuse and sexual assault is, who they affect, why they continue to occur, and what professionals can do to help build and maintain a safer community for all

Cost: $25 per person ***These Trainings will be held quarterly either zoom or in-person. Upon payment & registration completion, location or zoom details will be emailed
