Volunteer

We appreciate that you are willing to offer your time to Turning Point and make a tangible difference for survivors of domestic violence!

Our most pressing current need is helping our staff with the childcare we offer while survivors are getting services. 40 Hour Domestic Violence training is required.

We are open to volunteers who can come for a portion of the time. Frequency is also flexible.

Monday: 5:40p - 7:30p

Tuesday: 5:10p - 7:00p

Wednesday: 5:00p - 7:00p

Please contact us if you would like to apply for this position, or if you have any other interest in volunteering. We are happy to see if there is a need that works for you!

To learn more, please email [email protected] with your contact details and interests, or call us at 815-338-8081 during business hours and leave a detailed voicemail. Our Volunteer Coordinator works part-time.

Turning Point does not offer court ordered community service hours at this time.

Please note that any volunteering which involves direct regular interaction with our clients or their children (or client data) requires that the volunteer takes a 40-hour Domestic Violence Training. We hold sessions at our Woodstock campus every other month. There is a fee, but arrangements are possible for people committing to volunteering. More info can be found on our Community Trainings page

“I help so that individuals who are fighting to regain their self-worth can spend time with Turning Point staff. Hopefully by sharing their trauma they find the support needed to live a fulfilling life without fear.”
Jill Munger, childcare volunteer
